WW #22 Happy Mother’s Day

Posted on by .

The red and white log cabin is almost finished.

This is a closeup of the border. I’m not as happy with it as I thought I’d be, but it all counts as practice.

These were my roses to keep. I wear the one that’s unwrapped on my work badge.

I made 82 to give away.

I had so much fun handing them out that I may do it again somewhere else.

If you’d like the chance to win a couple, enter the drawing! The pink and the red roses pictured below will be sent to the lucky winner. The drawing is open world wide.

Still on the red bin…

I still hadn’t posted pictures from my trip back home.

Me, Sister, Mom, and Brother in front of the “doghouse”. Yes, I’m holding the lease for one of the pups while striking this sexy pose :p

The Hubs, Sister, Niece and I in our cemetery selfie.

In the last podcast, I talked about working on the postage stamp trip around the world.

I want to make it king sized and according to my calculations, I’m about 1/5 of the way there.  That’s a lot of 1.5 inch squares! So far I have one yes for another swap of these tiny treasures. If I can persuade a few more of you to join us…

I made a handbag for a dear friend with some of the colored vinyl I have. I also made the button out of polymer clay. I know she’ll be surprised as I’ve been threatening to do this for awhile now 😉

I still haven’t done any quilting on the red and white log cabin quilt yet.

Here it is, ready to go. I’m showing you so that you can see the piano key border I added to make it larger. The corner blocks are 1 to 1.5 inch strips left over after this process. It helped to keep the pieces out of the trash can or the pineapple bin. I lovingly stroke across the surface of this beauty every time I walk past it.

I also have been working on Charlotte’s Scrapitude mystery, and I’m caught up. This is the second mystery of hers in which I’ve participated. Please visit her link to learn more.

I haven’t shared any pictures until now because I wasn’t sure if there would be enough definition between the reds. I thought that if I didn’t like it, I could always revamp it somehow but I really like it as it’s unfolding. It will probably be the last red quilt for awhile. The red bin is slowly gaining space!

Only 3 days of work this week until I can sew again <3
